Do you have a favourite essential oil? I must say this oil is definitely in my top 5 and has so far helped solve a few problems during my summer travels….just wanted to share it with you! If you want to know what my top 8 are….head on over to a previous post I wrote. In the mean time, read on to find out more about this gift from mother nature.
Here are just a few benefits of peppermint essential oil
—
it has the ability to improve digestion, stomach aches and headaches, as well as alleviate nausea and minor pains
—
it is used to stimulate mental alertness and uplift mood
—
thanks to its menthol component it is also often used to help clear the respiratory tract and for the temporary relief of nasal congestion (this is the reason it is used in OTC cough syrups and drops)

—
its camphor, menthol, and carvacrol components have also proven to be resistant to certain bacteria (salmonella, E.Coli, certain staph infections), and therefore this EO can be an optimal addition in supporting a healthy immune system
Everyone is familiar with the refreshing and invigorating scent of peppermint essential oil, but not all are aware of its multiple nature- derived virtues. Important to note however, is not to pick up the first bottle of essential oil you see. If you want to find out more about the qualities you must look for when purchasing a good quality essential oil you can read a previous post from the Wonders in Wellness blog here.
What some fail to acknowledge is that essential oils can be very powerful, so if you have any doubts about their uses and how they can benefit your unique needs please contact a certified aromatherapist.
Have you used peppermint oil before? If so, how has it benefited you? Let me know.
